Southport Common Council & Boards
Public Notices & Information
The common council is the legislative body for the City of
Southport. Council meetings are held in the shelter house
meeting room, on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The
council has five members. Four council members are elected from, and must reside in, their respective districts. One at-large council member may reside in any district and is elected by all voters. Members serve a four year term and
one member elected to serves as council president for an annual term.
